Pat McGrath Velvet Liaison MTHRSHP Palette

Pat McGrath Velvet Liaison MTHRSHP Eyeshadow Palette is a new limited edition all-matte, neutral eyeshadow palette. I’ve always wanted to see the brand do an all-matte neutral palette, but I imagined it would be a bigger Mothership as well as permanent—simply it’s an unusual launch (basics, which can be a strong release even if “boring” to some) for a limited edition collection.

Five of the six mattes were incredibly nice to work with: finely milled, smooth, and blendable with rich pigmentation, while one (the lightest) was a touch more powdered than I’m used to from the brand but by no means awful. It’s worth mentioning that, just by touch, there seemed to be a small stiffness to the mattes that dissipated quickly, so it wasn’t a major issue, but it wasn’t something I’d generally noticed with the brand’s eyeshadows in the past.
