Pat McGrath Moonlit Seduction Mothership Eyeshadow Palette is the newest addition to the Mothership collection, and it features three matte hues and seven shimmer colours (which ranged from metallic to intensely shiny and sparkly). Previously, the final two colours in each row were domed and termed “special” shades; however, while the shades in these locations in this palette are titled similarly to previous “special” shades, they are not domed.

They looked comparable when applied, but the texture was more loosely-pressed, nearly dry at points, and hence sheerer and more prone to fallout. I’ve used these particular colours without a sticky foundation and with brushes, but I found that the Astral shades in this palette really needed an adhesive basis to perform successfully. When applied to my lid, the base seemed to have less glide and natural smoothness, yet the four “special” hues had a higher amount of shine than previous “special” shades.

The matte and metallic colours were true to the brand’s formula: pigmented, blendable, and long-lasting!
