deadmau5 And NERO Make A Comeback With A New Remix Of “XYZ”

Although deadmau5 and NERO have never officially collaborated, the UK duo-turned-trio has previously remixed the Canadian mau5. NERO delivered a remix for “Ghosts ‘n’ Stuff” in 2009 that still sends chills down the spine whenever it’s played. Now, 13 years later, the duo returns with a new remix of “XYZ,” the lead single from the We Are Friends Vol. 11 label compilation, which will be released later this year on mau5trap.

NERO managed to cut the “XYZ” original down from nine and a half minutes to just over five minutes in their remix, which was released today, without losing any of the flavor of the original and while still injecting a lot of their own into the mix. Echoing, delicate synths pervade the intro, with a NERO bassline leading the way to the full drop.
